I’ve been a user of the ProBar since its early iterations. As a Marine and CEO of 5.11 Tactical, a brand with products that have the functionality for “tactical athletes” (i.e. law enforcement officials and military) , I fully appreciate the need for mobility, especially under the load of full tactical gear. The ProBar helps me personally keep my mobility at its peak. The spring exerts internal tension, like loading the body from the inside vs the traditional external loading of weight, that gets my body primed for kettlebell work or any other physical endeavor. I believe professional athletes could benefit from the ProBar’s versatility, especially when it comes to maximizing mobility in their respective field. One additional benefit: I can put it in my gear bag and be on the go with it anywhere.
As a performance specialist for over 20 years, I firmly believe that MOVEMENT is paramount. Preparing my athletes to perform and helping them move better is my priority. With any of my athletes, whether it is NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA/LPGA, USATF, or otherwise, I have found that using the ProBar has helped me fast track their activation and movement preparation routines. I have always been a fan of using a dowel rod in multiple ways to activate, but the physiological responses that I get by using the ProBar have really helped me identify what my athletes need to work on the most. I have used ProBar to implement a series of corrective exercises to improve any deficits in their stability, mobility, and coordination to make sure that we are getting the most out of each performance session.
